Despite record turnout in 2004, the US still has an abominably low number of people voting. Making Election Day a national holiday would make it easier for workers and students to make it to the polls, increasing the number of voters. On the other hand, it would mean less work and school. What are your thoughts?

The best election is one that acurately reflects the feelings of America...and each vote left uncast hurts this. And I don't just mean in who wins the election, but the number of votes each candidate gets in general.

Election Day should not be a holiday. First of all it would probably upset some people fanatically dedicated to the losing candidates side. This could have its benefits if it gets more people to vote... <_<
