Prachett. Reaper Man is awesome, and I did his Alien Christmas for Forensics. Sorry Caleb, but Ezra didnt want it (he'll know what I mean, I think.........).
And to the dude who put Dale Brown. DONT YOU MEAN DAN BROWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He wrote The Da Vinci Code and Angles and Demons (along with Digital Fortress and Deseption (sp?) Point).

you know what I was thinking? some people think they're so smart for reading books by a certain author...when really there are better authors out there that just haven't been discovered...
and then there's the crazy writers in your Lit class that go on tangents and won't shut up. EVER. Those in my class know who I'm talking about. "Blah blah blah...I'm not an analytical person..I'm so much more Creative!"
TEACHER: "Yes yes -------- but this is a SURVEY of comp & lit, not a creative writing course."

Hillerman - Murder mysteries in a very unusual setting: modern day New Mexico's Navajo Reservation
Adams - combines science fiction with humor, very well written and funny

Amen.
ANyway, I like classic sci fi. I think the Fur Force guys should read sci-fi authors like Dick, Padgett (mainly The Proud Robot), and Walter Miller, Jr. (he wrote the hilarious Luna-miner story The Linemen). These guys are the fathers of sci-fi comedy. Also watch some funny anime, like Cowboy Bebop or something.......

Lol, but it was probably the best love story/war story/ drama of all time. I mean, it combines Rambo (dudes fighting over girl) with Con-Air (Trojan Horse thing) with a really, really good drama (Robert Denero?).
