Hello all!

I just bought a new computer and due to many complications had to get a new hardrive instead of being able to use the old one. I had a dell and dell oem's do not let you move their harddrives into other motherboards or else the opperating system says that it hasn't been activated. I now have my new XP Pro set up, and I want to move not only my old files from my old harddrive, but all of the programs. I have heard that there are programs that will do this for you. Can anyone please help me out so that I do not have to reinstall every program I own? Thank you very much!

You could create a ghost but that would also reinstall the OS.

Ghosting the Drive would really not work at all because the current os install has different hardware and software installed to work with that current setup and not the new one.Your going to need to reinstall all your programs because there is no program that could transfer it all over. I reccomend saving all your saved games, projects, etc. to a disk to transfer to your new comp. You may as well start over because it'll make your comp run a lot nicer without all the dead registry entries and shortcuts.
