How can people who log on for the first time and dont even post at all get mod to super mod privaliges while the only real peasant of this site (me) suffers.....

In responce to Sharkface's post, sometimes we will evaluate mod/smod candidates based on other criteria than what they have posted here. It was also necessary to just nominate a few up front when the forum was started (can't exactly evaluate a mod when nobody has made any posts yet). So that's the most major reason that people who haven't been active often on here before recieving mod status have received it.
And BTW, we have a system setup for new mod candidates, now that the forums are active enough to allow us to use activity here as a major part of the evaluation process.

you mean I can't vote for me, I mean who doesn't love me? *crickets*
Ahem.
I wouldn't vote either. The worst thing you can do when you want to get promoted on a forum is ask for it, some people just get lucky and automatically become mods. hehe
The_Nightshift
Sep 29 2004, 05:55 PM
Yeah...as I have advised many staff members before, never ask the boss for a promotion
The one and only
Sep 29 2004, 05:58 PM
It can only mean you'll never get it. *cough*Krayvis*cough*
The_Nightshift
Sep 29 2004, 06:00 PM
Well, it's not that it annoys us (it does, but...), but asking for a promotion often is an early warning sign of power hunger.

or compitition between the people with power, of which we have no more need for, they would have to get on the symbolic line.

I think you'll agree, however, that he came out well

. Anyways, the system is only applied to new mod candidates...power hunger within the ranks, however, is stifled by other methods...

I trust that absolute power *cough* has not corrupted The_Nightshift, one of the pillars of truth and justice upholding this great site in the vast void of the electronic net...i should hope...
And superbasemaster...never judge a person by what they say... for all you know, that person could be some loony example of Homo Sapien not in posession of their faculties typing random letters that happen to spell 'im cool' in an insane assylum at the other end of the net

...not that Yami is...
